Dr. Abraham O. Zoss Corporate research chemist, 98 Dr. Abraham O. Zoss, 98, of Maplewood, N.J., died on Sunday, May 17, in his home. Funeral services will be held at the Menorah Chapels at Millburn, 2950 Vaux Hall Rd., Union (Vaux Hall), N.J., on Tuesday, May 19, at 11:30 a.m. with interment to follow at the Westchester Hills Cemetery, Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y.

Born in South Bend, Ind., Dr. Zoss lived in Verona, N.J., and New York City before moving to Maplewood over 10 years ago. Dr. Zoss was employed as a corporate research chemist and, ultimately, as a consultant. He earned a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of Notre Dame and developed numerous patents. Also, Dr. Zoss was an honored member of the American Chemical Society, the Chemists Club of New York City, the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, and Israel Bonds.

Predeceased by his wife Magda (nee Santo), he is survived by his children, Hope, Joel and Roger Zoss, Diane Goldberg and her husband, Norman; his grandchildren, Zeke, Sara, Damema, Deena and Pam, and two great-grandchildren.

He was pre-deceased by his sister, Marlene Dermer.
