Virginia Mae (Wise) Caskey
March 10, 1916 - May 4, 2011
SYRACUSE — Virginia Mae Caskey, 95, of Syracuse, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at Miller’s Merry Manor. She was born March 10, 1916, in Marshall County to Daniel and Maude (Fulmer) Wise.
On Sept. 19, 1936, she married Edwyn Caskey, who preceded her in death in 2005.
They lived most of their lives in the Syracuse area, moving to Adams Lake in Wolcottville upon retirement. She and Edwyn operated Oakwood Park from 1946 until 1953. She retired from Thornburg Drug Store in 1979. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse.
.Virginia is survived by her two sons, Jim (Kay) Caskey of Leesburg and Dan (Kelly) Caskey of Elkhart; her daughter, Sharilyn (Jim) McLaughlin of Noblesville; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Friday, May 6, 2011, at Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse with Pastor David Herr officiating. Calling will be two hours prior to the service, from 10 a.m. until noon. Burial will follow in Syracuse Cemetery.
