Wheeler J. Venderly

Wheeler J. (Bud) Venderly, 64, of 17091 State Road 23, Granger, was dead on arrival at 4 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack in his home after shoveling snow. Venderly retired in 1974 as : a machinist from South Bend Lathe Inc. after working there 38 years.

Born on Dec. 4, 1911, in Glenwood, Mich., he had lived here most of his life.

On Nov. 22, 1952, he married Helen Klaybor, who survives. Also surviving are his mother, Mrs. Viola Venderly of Bradentôn. Fla.; a son, Jack J. of Apopka, Fla.; a stepson, Stanley J. Klaybor of South Bend; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Jennie Follendorf of Dowagiac.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Kanjewski and Sons Funeral Home. Rev. Gaither Bailey, of the Memorial Prespastor byterian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday.

He was a World War II veteran and a member of Post 50, American Legion; South Bend Turners; Lathe Works Athletic Association and the Lodge 919, F&AM, of Fort Knox, Ky.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Presbyterian church.
