William O Thau

William O. Thau, 83, residing on North 26th Street, South Bend, Ind., died at 2:15 a.m. on Tuesday, May 9, in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center, South Bend. He was born on July 18, 1916, in Mishawaka, Ind., to the late Ernest W. and Martha (Buckwald) Thau, and lived in this community all of his life.

Mr. Thau retired in 1974 from the Bendix Corporation following 30 years of service. He was a member of the Morris Park Country Club.

He is survived by a sister, Christene McGuire of Indianapolis, Ind.; a nephew, Robert W. Bushman, Sr., of South Bend; a niece, Kathleen Garboden of South Bend; a great-nephew, Robert W. Bushman, Jr., of South Bend; and by two great-nieces, Jennifer A. Jones of Boston, Mass., and Suzanne M. Jacobs of South Bend.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 11, in the Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend. Private burial will take place on Friday in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
