Inez (Smith) Carter

Services for Inez Carter, 70, of 323 N. Birdsell St., who died unexpectedly at 12:44 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Pilgrim Baptist Church. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday in Clark's Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Carter was as housewife.
Born Aug. 18, 1917, in Buford, Ga., she had lived here since 1942, coming from Buford.
On May 21, 1938, in Buford, she married Frederick D. Carter, who died May 30, 1984.
Surviving are two sons, Frederick D. III and Gerald D., both of South Bend; two grandchildren; and three sisters, Leola Carter of South Bend and Louvenia Bell and Willie Maynard, both of Buford.
She was a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church, the Sunday School Class No. 18, and the Fordie Harris Missionary Circle.
