Sara (Silberman) Thomas

Sara Thomas of Bentley Village, Naples, FL and formerly of Cherry Hill, NJ, died on August 4, 2001 in New York City. Sara was born on January 5, 1916 in South Bend, IN. She and her husband became full time residents of Naples in 1986. Sara loved people, the arts, the adventure of travel, stories, jokes, French, Spanish, Yiddish, children and most of all, life. She made friends wherever she found herself.
Her gallant battle with heart disease began six years ago on a trip to Russia.
Sara is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Raymond D. Thomas; two sons, Thomas of Reading, MA and Floyd of Lawrenceville, GA; and a daughter, Ann of New York, NY. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Raymond Thomas, Rebecca Thomas, William Thomas, Elefaire Thomas, Tracy Thomas, Kevin Thomas, Brynn Thomas, Caleb Rabinowitz and Samuel Rabinowitz.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Instead of flowers, contributions may be made in Sara's memory to the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Greater Naples, 6340 Tenth Avenue, SW, Naples, FL 34116.
