QUEENSBURY - Louretta B. Jackson, 84, of Queensbury, passed away Monday, June 5, 2000, at Glens Falls Hospital. Mrs. Jackson was born June 23, 1915, in South Bend, Ind., the daughter • of the late John F. and Klara (Staczynski) Rosplochowski.

She was a graduate of South Bend Indiana Central High School, Class of 1926. She attended St. Mary's College in South Bend, Ind., for one year. Mrs. Jackson was active in tennis and horseback riding. She was employed for many years by Fowlers and Howlands Department stores in Glens Falls and Queensbury. Mrs. Jackson was a former member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court McDermott No. 188, where she served as treasurer for several years. She participated in many charitable causes.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Richard M. Jackson, who died Feb. 1, 1997; six sisters, Florence Zarnecki, Clara Clayton, Ester Rosplochowski, Sister Mary Fides, Jean Rosplochowski and Phyllis Fulnecky; and one brother, Benjamin J. Ross.

Survivors include one daughter, Kristin and her husband, Charles, Couture of Newton, N.J.; four sons, Phil and Tanis Jackson of Queensbury, Kevin and Marie Jackson of Queensbury, Richard and Vickie Jackson of Iowa City, Iowa, and Stephen Jackson of Plattsburgh; six grandchildren, Jennifer Couture of Verona, N.J., Geoffrey Couture of Stillwater, N.J., Aaron Couture of Deptford, N.J., Erick and Grant Jackson of Queensbury, and Ryan Jackson and his wife, Eileen, of Glen Burnil, Md.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, June 9, at St. Michael the Archangel Church in South Glens Falls. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Glens Falls. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Singleton-Healy Funeral Home, 407 Bay Road, Queensbury.
