Richard J. Nowatka

SOUTH BEND Services for. Richard J. Nowatka, 78, of Hartzer Avenue, who died at 8:45 p.m. Wednesday in his home, will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3402 Lincoln Way W., where a rosary will be said at 4 p.m.

Mr. Nowatka was a setup man for AlliedSignal Inc. for 42 years. He was born July 15, 1916, in South Bend.

On Nov. 25, 1937, in South Bend, he married Marie R. Rozewicz. She died Jan. 23, 1995.

He is survived by three daughters, Diane Eichorst of Joliet, Ill., Gail Boggs of Leesburg and Cynthia Sears of Bremen; a son, Richard D. of Peru, Ill.; eight grandchildren; and five great children.

He was a member of Bendix Retirees Local 9, American Legion Post 50, Polish National Alliance No. 83 and Knights of Columbus Council 5570.
