Major Courtney Neilson

Major Courtney Neilson, a paratrooper, was killed in action in France June 6, according to a telegram received by his aunt, Mrs. Frank J. Ward, 505 North St. Joseph street. A graduate of Central High school and Purdue university, West Lafayette, Ind., Major Neilson entered the army upon completion of college and was sent overseas about a year ago after receiving training at Fort Sheridan, Ill., and Fort Sill, Okla.

He was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, Sept. 8, 1916, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Neilson. He is survived by two brothers, Howard, of Aiken, S. C., and Wallace, Wilmington, Dela., and a sister, Miss Marjorie Neilson, who lives with her aunt, Mrs. Herbert Westervelt, in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

He was a former Tribune carrier.
