Virginia D. (Myers) Chesnut

Virginia D. Chesnut, 72, of Spring City, Tenn., formerly of South Bend, died at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in the University of Tennessee Memorial Hospital, Knoxville, Tenn. She was an audit clerk at Bendix Corp., retiring in 1970.

Born June 6, 1916, in Fulton County, she lived in South Bend most of her life.

On Aug. 14, 1937, in Rochester, she married Nelvin Chesnut, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Carol Cook of Marietta, Ga.; two sons, Charles of Atlanta and Ronald of La Mirada, Calif.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mabel Papp of Martinsburg, W.Va.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Vaughn Funeral Home, Spring City. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery. She was a past worthy matron of Fern Chapter 745 Order of Eastern Star, Sorento, Ill. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Spring City and Spring City United Methodist Church.
