Richard Hower Long

Richard H. Long, 79, of 4141 Ocean Drive, Vero Beach, died Dec. 23, 1995, at Indian River Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was born March 14, 1916, in South Bend, Ind., and moved to Vero Beach 23 years ago from St. Joseph, Mich.

Mr. Long was a member of the Volunteer Ambulance Squad, Crisis Pregnancy Center, Hospital Auxiliary, and Trinity Episcopal Church.

Surviving are a son, Craig Long, Vero Beach; a daughter, Judy Kay Ritzler, New Smyrna Beach; a brother, William F. Long, La Canada, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. At the family's request, there will be no repose or visitation.

A memorial service will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Episcopal Church Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Crisis Pregnancy Center, 1503 24th St., Vero Beach, Fla. 32960 or to VNA Hospice, 1111 36th St., Vero Beach, Fla. 32960, in Mr. Long's memory.

Mr. Long was a member of the Indian River Cremation Society, Vero Beach.
