John Henry Lloyd

John H. Lloyd, 68, of 250 Rue Flambeau, died at 10:20 p.m. Monday in Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
He was the former president of the Lloyd Insurance Agency. He was born on Apr. 6, 1914, in Hartford, Conn., and had lived in South Bend since coming from Hartford in 1919.
On Sept. 2, 1935, in Michigan City, he married Georgina Lamy, who survives, with a daughter, Mrs. Georgina Trentman of Murray, Utah; two sons, John H. III of South Bend and William J. of Chicago, and 12 grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, with Rev. Robert A. Yast, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Hickey Funeral Home, 3516 E. Jefferson Blvd., where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. by the parish and the Santa Maria Knights of Columbus Council.
He was a member of the church, the Knights of Columbus Council 553, and Father Nieuland Assembly. He was a former board member of the South Bend Chamber of Commerce and chairman of its aviation committee, former member of the Indiana Club, the South Bend Country Club, Elks Lodge 235, and the University Club of Notre Dame.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church or to the St. Joseph County Heart Association. Arthur J. Breslin.
