Antoinette Maria (Latowski) Krempetz

June 27, 1916 – June 12, 2006

Antoinette “Toni” Krempetz, 89, passed away on Monday, June 12, in the Houghton County Medical Care Facility. Antoinette was born in Laurium, Michigan, a daughter of Walter and Frances Latowski. She left the area as an infant and was raised in Chicago.

Toni married Eugene “Gene” Krempetz and the couple resided in South Bend. The couple built a cabin in Copper Harbor in the late 60s and moved there permanently when Gene retired in 1984. They moved to Laurium, MI, a few years later. Gene passed in 1991. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Adrian “Bud” Latowski, and a son, Michael.

Toni is survived by two sons, James (Pam) of Buchanan, MI, and Paul of South Bend;a daughter, Barbara (Paul) Posega of Rockford, Ill.;John Posega of Laurium, MI; six grandchildren, including Larry, who Toni and Gene raised; seven great-grandchildren; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Toni was a member of Sacred Heart Church of Calumet, Mich. Toni will be remembered as a fun-loving mother and grandmother known for her sense of humor and devotion to her family. A private service and interment is being handled by the ST.JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S.Mayflower Road.Burial will take place at St.Joseph Cemetery, South Bend
