Bert L. "Bronco" Kromkowski. 70, of 2526 Bonds Ave., died at 4:09 p.m. Monday in Memorial Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack while shoveling snow.
He was the father of state Rep. Thomas S. Kromkowski, D-7th, and was a general foreman for Stanley Enterprises for 23 years, retiring in 1983. Born July 24, 1914, in South Bend, he lived here all of his life.
On Jan. 31, 1938, in South Bend, he married Virginia Buzalski, who survives with a son, Thomas S., of South Bend; two grandchildren; a sister, Harriet Zdral of Hamtramck, Mich.; and three brothers, Stanley, Aloysius and Alfred, all of South Bend.
Services at will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, and entombment will follow in the mausoleum at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Kaniewski and Sons Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Mr. Kromkowski was a member of the St. Joseph Young Men's Society, MR Falcons, and Centrella.
