Dorothy M. (Koehler) Hoover

Dorothy M. Hoover, 88, of North 27th Street, South Bend, Ind., died Wednesday morning, Oct.13, in Memorial Hospital. Dorothy worked for St. Joseph Bank & Trust in downtown South Bend for 50 years, and then was employed as a greeter at Wal-Mart on Portage Road.

Dorothy was born July 6, 1916, in South Bend, to Carl C. and Anna M. (Schmidt) Koehler, who preceded her in death along with her husband, Ralph T. Hoover; daughter-in-law, Marcia Hoover; sister, Mary Margaret Koehler; and three brothers, Robert E., James G. and Jack W. Koehler.

Surviving are a son, Forest R. Hoover of South Bend; a sister, Helen M. Koehler of South Bend; and two brothers, Richard E. Koehler of Wisconsin and Carl J. Koehler of Maryland.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today, Oct.15, in the HICKEY Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 3516 E. Jefferson Blvd., with Rev. David Sickelka of Zion United Church of Christ, South Bend, officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of services today in the funeral home.

Dorothy was a lifetime member of Zion United Church of Christ, White Shrine, Order of the Eastern Star, and the Order of Amaranth. Memorials may be made to the charity of donor’s choice
