SOUTH BEND John M. Kirsits, Jr., of South Bend, Ind., died on Monday, Nov. 10, in Chicago, Ill. Mr. Kirsits was born on Dec. 21, 1915, in South Bend. He was married to the former Florence K. Paar, who preceded him in death in 1979.
He is survived by a son, John D. (Deborah) Kirsits of Oak Lawn, Ill.; a daughter, Anita K. Kirsits of Chicago, Ill.; and by two grandchildren.
Mr. Kirsits was a member of St. Mary's of the Assumption Catholic Church, member and past president of the DFV German Club, former member and trustee of the St. Stephen's Society, member of the American Association of Retired Persons, member of the Rum Village Neighborhood Association, charter the Calumet, Indiana/Illinois Chapter No. 76 Civilian Conservation Corp. (CCC), and member of the National Association of the CCC of Falls Church, Virginia.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Zahoran Funeral Home at 1826 Kemble Avenue, where a Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday at St. Mary's of the Assumption Church. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery.
