Margaret (Hepler) Curtis Gale

Feb 7, 1917 - Feb 10, 1998

Margaret (Curtis) Gale, 81, passed away Feb. 10, 1998. She was born in South Bend, Ind., on Feb. 7, 1917. She got her pilot's license signed by Amelia Earhart and Will Rogers when she was just 17 and was the first woman pilot in Indiana.

She was a successful interior decorator for many years in San Antonio.

Margaret is survived by her children, G.G. Gale Jr. and wife, Beth, of San Antonio, George Gale and wife, Doris, of Granite Shoals, Gary Gale of Sugarland and Gaylynne Pugh and husband, Larry, of Longview.

She will be buried in South Bend, and a memorial by her grandson David Gale will be held on Saturday, Feb. 14, at 10 a.m. at Borgfeld Baptist Church in Bulverde, Texas.
