Margaret Irene (Haslanger) Foster

Margaret Foster, 48, of 508 W. Battell St., active worker in church, school and civic circles for many years, died at 11:15 a.m. Monday in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. She had been ill since March.

Mrs. Foster was born in South Bend, Jan. 13, 1916 and had lived all of her lifetime in this vicinity.

As Margaret Haslanger she married Cecil E. Foster in South Bend, March 19, 1937. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, South Bend and of the United Church Benevolent Society of the Church. She was active in Mishawaka Camp Fire Girls; P.T.A. and the council, and in the Mishawaka Family YMCA-YWCA.

Surviving are her husband; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Foster, of South Bend; two sons. Cecil Jr., and Steven Lee Foster, at home; a daughter, Mrs. James Robbins and a granddaughter, Cindy K. Robbins, in Okinawa; two sisters, Mrs. Burnas Michels, of Phoenix, Ariz., and  Dr. Virginia Foster, D.O., of Kirksville, Mo.

Friends may call in the Bubb Funeral Chapel after 7 p.m. today and until noon Thursday when the body will be taken to the Zion United Church of Christ. Friends may call there from 1 p.m. Thursday until the funeral services at 2 o'clock. Rev. John Bock, assistant pastor of the church, will officiate and burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.

The family suggests that memorials be sent to the United Church Benevolent, Society, South Bend.
