Edward C. Hager

SOUTH BEND - Edward C. Hager, 77, of Sherwood Avenue, died about Sunday in his home after an illness. Mr. Hager retired as a self-employed piano tuner and repairman.

He was born April 5, 1916, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.

On Aug. 23, 1941, in Mishawaka, he married Justine Ellen Besinger. She died May 8, 1980.

He is survived by a brother. Rev. G. Carl Hager, CSC, of South Bend.

Mr. Hager was a graduate of the University of Notre Dame.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to Tuesday in Hickey Funeral Home, 17131 Cleveland Road, where a parish wake will be at 7 p.m.
