Michael C. Granat

Michael C. Granat Word has been received of the death April 14 of Michael Charles Granat, 71, of Santa Fe Springs, Calif., formerly of South Bend, in Downey (Calif.) Community Hospital. Mr. Granat was deputy labor commissioner for California. He had been industrial relations director for the former Drewrys Ltd. here and was active in South Bend area civic activities, including United Way of St. Joseph County.

He was born Aug. 1, 1916, in Indiana.

His wife, Ann, survives with a daughter, Gail McBride, and a son, Michael R., both in California; four grandchildren; four sisters, Mary Kring and Margaret Edwards, both of South Bend, Helen Forling of Michigan City and Betty Hockney of Union Mills; and two brothers, Frank of South Bend and George of Miami.

Services were in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Whittier, Calif
