Dorothy Caroline (Goffeney) Eager

Dorothy C. Eager, 89, of Leonidas, passed away September 23, 2004, at Birch Adult Foster Care Home in Leonidas. She had made her home at Birches for eight years. Dorothy was born July 12, 1915, in South Bend, Indiana to Herbert and Alfreda (Macht) Goffeney.
She graduated in 1934 from South Bend Central High School.
On June 16, 1940 in South Bend, she was united in marriage to Richard H. Eager who preceded her in death on December 4, 1969. During their married years, Dorothy and Dick made their home in South Bend, Battle Creek, and Addison, Illinois. Dorothy was employed at Ault Camera Shop in South Bend from 1936 to 1943 as a photo developer.
Dorothy enjoyed helping others. She was a life member of Zion United Church of Christ in South Bend where she served in many capacities. She enjoyed flower gardening and watching and feeding the birds. She was a caring, devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister and will be dearly missed by all who knew her and loved her.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Gary Munger of Athens; two grandchildren, Krista (Paul) Antonowitsch of Kalamazoo, Gregory Munger of Missoula, Montana; a great grandson, Kurt Antonowitsch of Kalamazoo; a sister, Joan Voorhies of South Bend; and sister-in-law, Joyce Goffeney of South Bend. She is also survived by her "special friends" at Birches and loving staff there.
Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 29, 2004, at the Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel, Battle Creek with Reverend Garry Thompson, officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Three Rivers Hospice Care, Zion United Church of Christ (tape or music ministries) or Birch Adult Foster Care Home. Arrangements by the Richard A.
