Mary Elizabeth (Gillis) Waite

Elizabeth Waite, 71, of 1101 Mary Allen St., died about 4:20 p.m. Saturday in St. Joseph's Medical Center after an illness. She was born Nov. 10, 1915, in South Bend, where she lived all her life.

On Sep 23, 1935, in South Bend, she married H. Timothy Waite Sr., who died in 1974.

Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Ann Rybicki of South Bend and Suzanne E. McLaughlin of Bowie, Md., seven sons, H. Timothy III of East Haven, Conn., James E. of Columbus, Miss., John F. of Fort Worth, Tex., and William F., Michael C., Peter J. and Mark F., all of South Bend; 22 granchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Catherine Marcus of Joliet, Ill. A daughter, Mary Jo Rulli, died in 1958.

Services will be Tuesday at Holy Cross Catholic Church of which she was a member. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Right to Life, Inc. of St. Joseph County or Hospice of St. Joseph County Inc.
