Etta Marie (Flanigan) Schaefer

SCHAEFER, ETTA MARIE (FLANIGAN) Lansing Age 82, passed away April 13, 1998. Born January 8, 1916, in Logansport, IN, the daughter of William Elton and Lucy Carrie (Green) Flanigan, Etta Marie graduated from Central High School of South Bend, IN, in 1934 and worked as a Dental Hygienist until her marriage June 22, 1941. She was an exceptional wife, mother and grandmother and much loved.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Wilbur Schaefer (1980); brother, Richard John Flanigan; and sister, Eleanor Kathryn (Cooper). Surviving are 2 daughters, Barbara Ann and Susan Marie Schaefer of Lansing; 1 son, William Lee (Shirley) Schaefer, and 1 grandson, Michael Daniel Schaefer of Kokomo, IN; 2 brothers, Floyd William (Elinor) Flanigan and Eugene Elton (Betty) Flanigan; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Schaefer was a resident of Lansing for 44 years.

Funeral services will be Friday, April 17, 11 a.m. at the Lansing Chapel, 520 E. Mt. Hope Ave., with Dr. C. Lee Filker officiating. Interment will follow at Deepdale Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society
