Rev Bishop George Franklin Ebright Sr.

George Franklin Ebright Sr., 85, of Mishawaka, Ind., passed away on Monday morning, Dec. 17, in the Cardinal Health Care Center, South Bend, Ind. George was born on Feb. 27, 1916, in South Bend, to Frank and Augusta (Hintz) Ebright, both of whom preceded him in death.
On May 30, 1936, in South Bend, George married Dorothy Martin. George is survived by his wife, Dorothy Ebright; their three sons, George F. (Jane) Ebright Jr. of Oxceola, Ind., Jack M. (Ruby) Ebright of Green Bay, Wis., and Gene A, (Ruth) Ebright of Mishawaka. George is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchild and by a brother, Charles Ebright of Mishawaka.
The Bishop began his ministry in 1940. He evangelized for three years before starting a church in Antigo, Wis., in 1947. Returning to Mishawaka in June 1951, he founded First Apostolic Church, which was located on Francis Avenue in Mishawaka. He pastored there for 26 years, retiring in 1977. Traveling throughout the United States, he evangelized from 1977 through 1981, returning to Mishawaka to assist his son who is pastoring First Apostolic Church, which is now located at 802 East Mishawaka Avenue in Mishawaka until the time of his death.
Bishop Ebright was affiliated with the Assemblies of the Lord Jesus Christ with headquarters in Memphis, Tenn. Joining in 1971, he served as Indiana District Assistant Superintendent on the board of directors of the Blue Mountain Children's Home of Blue Mountain, Miss.; Indiana District Home and Foreign Missions Departments; Indiana District Campgrounds Promotions an dIndiana District Board of Trustees.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 19, in the First Apostolic church, 802 E. Mishawaka Avenue, and one hour prior to the funeral service which will be held at noon on Thursday in the church. Officiating the service will be Rev. W.J. Willis and Rev. M.L Walls. Final resting place will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Ind.
The Bubb Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements.
Bishop Ebright was very much loved and appreciated among his brethren and willingly labored whenever needed.
He will be greatly missed
