Lillian (Cooper) Levy

SOUTH BEND - Mrs. Lillian Cooper Levy, 98, of Houston, TX, formerly of South Bend, passed away in her residence at the Seven Acres Jewish Center on Tuesday. Lillian was born to Max and Bella (Plotkin) Cooper in South Bend on December 25, 1915.
She was a homemaker and owner of the former Levy's Dept. Store for 35 years. In 1935 she married Ira Levy and he passed away on November 28, 1963.
She is survived by two sons: Joel (Pam) Levy of Schererville, IN, and Martin (Joanne) Levy of Houston; a brother, Sheldon (Mary) Cooper of Chicago, IL; four grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren.
Graveside services will be held today, May 15th, at 1:00 pm at the Hebrew Orthodox Cemetery, Mishawaka, IN, with Rabbi Michael Friedland officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to Sinai Synagogue, where she was a longtime member at 1102 E. LaSalle Ave., South Bend, IN 46617.
