Wayne E. Buck, 59, of 1008 E. Chippewa, died at 6:45 p.m. Sunday in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Fort Wayne, after a six-month illness. Buck was a Bendix Corp. employee, having worked there 37 years.

Born July 23, 1915, in South Bend, he had lived here his lifetime.

On April 26, 1942, in California, he married Jackie Norton, who survives. Also surviving are his mother, Mrs. Beatrice Buck of South Bend; a son, Keith, at home; three daughters, Mrs. Karyl Tetzlaff and Mrs. Patti Day, both of South Bend, and Shelley, at home; two grandchildren; a brother, Jack of South Bend, and three sisters, Mrs. Velda Grounds and Mrs. Mardel Brunnengraber, both of South Bend, and Mrs. Joyce Rockaway of Mount Vernon, Ill.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Guisinger Colonial Chapel where friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Buck was a chief petty officer in the Navy during World War II.
