BLACK - Services for Louis E. Black, 43, formerly of South Bend and business manager the past six years of Doctors Hospital, Michigan City, will be at 10 a. m. Monday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Mr. Black died unexpectedly Thursday night in the Michigan City hospital, shortly after he was admitted.
Friends may call this evening in the Ott Funeral Home, Michigan City, and after 1 p.m. Sunday in Hickey Funeral Home. Burial will in Highland Cemetery. Mr. Black was born March 10, 1916, South Bend.
He married Mary Catherine Cosgrove in South Bend 1937. Surviving are the widow, three children, Marilou, 17, James and Thomas, 4, all at home, the mother, Mrs. Mary Black South Bend, and four sisters, Mrs. Joseph Rotondo of Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Rita Aragon and Mrs. Frederick Todd, both of South Bend, and Mrs. Edward Ostrowski Chicago Heights, Ill.
Mr. Black graduated in 1949 from the University of Notre Dame. He was Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, Michigan City, the Michigan City Lions Club, and a member and past president of the Michigan City Notre Dame Club.
Pallbearers will be Drs. Amos Arney, Joseph Bergan, Robert Marski, and Albert Weiss, and Tony Dargis, Ray Kniola, Harold Kern, and Robert Schiel, all Michigan City.
