Lauren J. Wolfe, 87, of Kline Street, Mishawaka, Ind., died at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 11, i in Miller's Merry Manor, Wakarusa, Ind. Mr. Wolfe was born in South Bend, Ind., on March 11, 1913, and had been a lifelong area resident.
Lauren was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Edith (Bookwalter) Wolfe, and by a brother, Robert. He married the former Ruth Hammond in South Bend on July 13, 1941. She also preceded him in death on Sept. 23, 2000.
Lauren retired in 1975 from the Indiana and Michigan Electric Company after 34 years of service. He had also worked as a school bus driver for School City of Mishawaka, and Marian and St. Joseph High schools, and was an usher at Notre Dame for over 50 years. He was a member of the Scottish Rite, Mishawaka Masonic Lodge #130, and East United Methodist Church of Mishawaka.
Mr. Wolfe is survived by a daughter, Elaine (David) Hubanks of Mishawaka; a son, Bryan (Karen) Wolfe of Granger, Ind.; a brother, Frank Wolfe of Wichita, Kan.; and by six grandchildren, Charity Hollingsworth of Mishawaka, Lindsay Wolfe of Granger, Jill Hiner of Mishawaka, Mitchell Wolfe of Elkhart, Ind., and Ben and Jonathan Hubanks, both of Mishawaka.
Friends and family may call from 2 to 6 p.m. today in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 10 a.m. on Monday, with Brother Paul Troxell officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Ind
