Esther A. (Winther) Kasa

Esther A. Kasa, 85, of Rue Renoir, South Bend, Ind., died at 2:55 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 22, at Hospice House. Esther was born on Aug. 11, 1912, in South Bend, to Carl H. and Marie (Neilsen) Winther.

On Jan. 30, 1932, she married Louis A. Kasa, who preceded her in death in 1971. Esther is survived by a daughter, Kathryn Stienbarger of Niles, Mich.; two sons, Larry of Elkhart, Ind., and James of South Bend; 10 grandchildren; eight greatgrandchildren; and by a brother, Alfred Winther of Penwater, Mich.

She was a member of The Danish Sisterhood, South Bend Newcomers and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.

Services for Esther will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William Street, with burial to follow in Highland Cemetery. Rev. Larry Kurtz of Faith United Methodist Church, Elkhart, will officiate. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Hospice House of St. Joseph County.
