Otto E Scheiman

Otto E. Scheiman, 76, jof 214 N. Coquillard Ave., died at 2:35 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Hospital after an illness. Mr. Scheiman retired from the Studebaker Corp. and the University of Notre Dame after 41 years as the guard at the Notre Dame football team locker door. He was born July 15, 1910, in Fort Smith, Ark., and lived in South Bend most of his life.

On Aug. 8, 1933, in South Bend, he married Virginia Dillon, who survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Sandy Davenport and Sharon Harman, both of South Bend, Jacqueline Kizer of Mishawaka and Constance Donadio of Wallingford, Conn.; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Evangel Heights United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 435 S. Ironwood Drive. He was a member of the Circus Historical Society of America and the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or American Diabetes Association.
