R. Eugene McCormick

SOUTH BEND - R. Eugene McCormick, 82, of East Bowman Street, died at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday in Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. McCormick retired in 1979 from Indiana Engraving Co. He was born May 25, 1912, in South Bend. On Jan. 28, 1938, in South Bend, he married Catherine Egbert. She died Oct. 5, 1994.

She is survived by a daughter, Kathleen McCormick Auleta of Ronkonkoma, N.Y.; a son, Jack E. of Beaver Creek, Mich.; five grandchildren; a great grandchild; three sisters, Dorothy Walker of Osceola, Donnabelle Hennessey of Florida and Ruth Murphy of Indianapolis; and a brother, Richard E. of South Bend.

He was a member of St. Joseph Masonic Lodge 45, Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend, Orak Shrine Temple and Avalon Grotto.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Zion United Church of Christ. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., where Masonic services will be at 6 p.m. followed by the Avalon Grotto.
