Harold G. Hamilton, 57, of 423 N. Esther St., died Tuesday St. Joseph's Hospital after a short illness.

Born Aug. 22, 1913 in Niles, Mich., he resided here his lifetime. On May 25, 1940 in South Bend, he married Wilhelmina Ponader, who died Feb. 10, 1951: On Dec. 1, 1951 in South Bend, he married Phyllis Clostingh, who survives along with .his mother, Mrs. Grace Hamilton of South Bend; four daughters, Mrs. David Royster of Bloomington, Ind., Miss Juliette Hamilton, a student at Purdue University, Mrs. John Miller of Cassopolis, and Miss Patricia Hamilton, at home, and a grandson.

Friends may call from 8 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Welsheimer Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Michael's and All Angels Episcopal Church, Rev. Paul E. Leatherbury, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Valley Memorial Park.

Mr. Hamilton was a 17 year employee of the Bendix Corp., worked eight years as secretary-treasurer of the Maple Lane Construction and Reality Corp., and has been associated with Abshire Reality Corp. since 1970. He was a member of St. Michael's Church, the vestry of the church for nine years, South Bend Lodge 294 F. and A.M., the Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of South Bend, Orak Shrine Temple, Hammond, Ind., the South Bend Elk's Club, South BendMishawaka Board of Realtors, the Multiple Listing Service, the Pioneer Auto Assn., and Phil Kappa Phi Fraternity.

He received his B.S. from Purdue University in 1937, and was an Army veteran of World War II where he served in the intelligence corps
