Dick D. Brown, 89, of Galien, Mich., died on Tuesday, Oct. 10, in South Bend, Ind. Dick was born on Feb. 12, 1911, in Dowagiac, Mich.

On Nov. 18, 1933, in South Bend, he married Mary Ruth Baker, who died in 1991.

He was a retired manager of Bendix. He belonged to Trinity Episcopal Church, Niles, enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports (ND), and the Civil War.

He is survived by two daughters, Carol Brown-Schlutt of Bridgman, Mich., and Sally (James) Hoit of Guide Rock, Neb. and by six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 13, in the Swem Funeral Home, Buchanan, with burial at St. Joseph Memorial Park, South Bend. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 12. in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Association
