Thaddeus J. Zabik

SOUTH BEND Thaddeus J. Zabik, 81, of Poppy Road, died at 10:33 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph's Medical Center after an illness.

Mr. Zabik retired in 1973 from Bendix Corp. was born July 11, 1912, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident.

On Dec. 31, 1934, in South Bend, he married Madeline Humphrey. She survives, with four daughters, Patricia Zabik, Jan Maciejewski and Theresa VanOverberghe, all of South Bend; and Karen Straka of Champaign, Ill.; 15 grandchildren; six great -grandchildren; a brother, Stanley of Nakomis, Fla.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today in St. Joseph Funeral Home where a parish rosary will be said at 7 p.m.
