SOUTH BEND - Philip E. Thompson, 76, of Irish Hills Drive and Corey Lake, Three Rivers, died Monday in his home at Corey Lake of natural causes.

Mr. Thompson retired 1975 as an engineer for Allied Bendix Corp. after 34 years of service. He was born Feb. 28, 1914, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.

His first wife, Frances Bralick, preceded in death. On Sept. 16, 1961, in Fort Wayne, he married Shirley E. Oliver. She died Feb. 24, 1977.

On Nov. 4, 1977, in South Bend, he married Marilyn Blosser, who survives. Also surviving are a stepdaughter, Linda Nuss of Goshen; a stepson, John H. Blosser of Indianapolis; five stepgrandchildren; and a stepgreat-grandson.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph County Cancer Society
