April 1, 1912 - Dec. 15, 2000 Earl' Francis Perkins, 88, formerly of Oak Springs Road, Eagle Lake, Edwardsburg, Mich., passed away after an illness at 6:45 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 15, while a patient in Valley View Health Care Center, Elkhart, Ind.

He and his wife moved from Edwardsburg about 1995 to Hubbard Hills in Elkhart to make their home. Earl was born on April 1, 1912, in South Bend, Ind., the son of the late William Edwin and Cora Isabell (Paige) Perkins, and moved to Edwardsburg in 1940. Earl had been employed as an inspector for the former Studebaker plant in South Bend, and retired as an inspector for A.M. General of Mishawaka, Ind. He was a member of the U.A.W. Union and a member of the Hope United Methodist Church. He had served in World War I| in the U.S. Navy.

Earl was married to June Frances Pathfon in South Bend on Dec. 6, 1940, and celebrated their 60th anniversary last week. He is also survived by their daughter, Alana Arseneau of Edwardsburg; three grandchildren, Danielle, Eric and Todd Arseneau; seven greatgrandchildren, Amber, Kenton, Ashton, Tyler, Angela, Brandon and Kristipher; and by four great great-grandchildren, Gage, Kyle, Raven and Kalee.

Friends are being received from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday in the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, Edwardsburg. Services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 19, in the Hope United Methodist Church, Elkhart Road. Officiating will be Rev. Jeff Reese, pastor. Friends will be received in the church one hour before services on Tuesday. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery of South Bend. Memorial donations may be made to Hope United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 624, Edwardsburg, MI 49112-0624.
