Mildred R. (Nash) Smith

June 19, 1913 – July 23, 2006

Mildred R. (Nash) Smith, 93, of Walkerton, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2006, in her home. Mildred was born on June 19, 1913, in South Bend, to Samuel Church Nash and Violet Teresa (Krell) Nash. She had lived in this area since 1931, coming from South Bend.

On September 1, 1935, Mildred married Walter Melvin Smith in Walkerton. He passed away on March 12, 1990.

Mildred is survived by her children, Grace Noone (Richard) of Walkerton, Sherill Kickbush (Richard) of Branson, Missouri, Walter Michael Smith (Anna) of Plymouth, Ann Miller (Jim) of Walkerton, James Wood (Diane); 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren; and one brother-in-law, Merrill H. Smith of North Judson.

Two grandchildren, Debra Noone and Bryan Miller, preceded her in death.

Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 24, 2006, in the Nusbaum-Elkin Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today in the Methodist Church in Walkerton. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Methodist Church in Walkerton
