Guy Henry McMichael, Jr.

Memorial services for Guy H. McMichael Jr., 77, former St. Joseph County deputy prosecutor and business law professor at the University of Notre Dame, who died at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Cathedral of St. James Episcopal. Cremation will take place with private burial at Riverview Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

Mr. McMichael, of 1625 Riverside Drive, was a partner in the law firm of Voor, Jackson, Grant & McMichael.

He served as a professor at the University of Notre Dame, where he taught business law for 40 years. From 1939 to 1942, Mr. McMichael served as deputy prosecutor.

He was born July 20, 1913, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.

On Nov. 10, 1938, in South Bend, he married Janet B. Budd. She survives, along with a daughter, Gloria M. Berg of South Bend; a son, Guy H. III of Washington, D.C.; two grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Chrisman of South Bend.

He was a graduate of DePauw University and the University of Notre Dame. He was a member of Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity, chairman of the first March of Dimes campaign in South Bend, former chairman of the American Red Cross, former president of the Knife & Fork Club, St. Joseph County Bar Association and the South Bend Country Club and was a veteran of World War II.

Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., is in charge of arrangements.
