Former Colorado Justice Was South Bend Native

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Memorial services for Robert B. Lee, 75, former justice of the Colorado State Supreme Court, and formerly of South Bend, were Tuesday in University Park United Methodist Church, Denver. Mr. Lee, who resided in Aurora, Colo., died June 16 in Hospice of St. John, Lakewood, Colo. Memorials may be sent to Hospice of St. John, 1320 Everett Court, Lakewood, Colo., 80215.

Lee was born in South Bend. He was a graduate of DePauw University, Greencastle, and the University of Notre Dame.

He was admitted to the Colorado bar in 1941 and was in private practice until 1943, when he became an Arapahoe County deputy district attorney. He resumed his practice in 1949 and in 1961 was named as a judge in the 18th Judicial District, which included Arapahoe, Douglas and Elbert counties. In 1969 he was appointed to the Colorado Supreme Court and he retired in 1983 from the court.

Survivors include his wife, two daughters, a son, a grandchild, a sister and two brothers.
