Donald C. Heyde

SOUTH BEND Donald C. Heyde, 80, of New Port Ritchie, Fla., formerly of South Bend, died about 6 a.m. Wednesday in his home of natural causes. Mr. Heyde retired from I & M Electric Co. in 1978 as a manager after 41 years of service.

He was born Sept. 22, 1913, in Elkhart, and moved to Florida in 1979 from South Bend.

On Nov. 28, 1935, in South Bend, he married Loretta Hagman. She survives with a daughter, Sharon Nagy of Greenwood, Ind.; a son, Richard of South Bend; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Mr. Heyde was a member of Masonic Lodge 284 and American Federation of Musicians and a former member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and Four Lakes Country Club.

He was a Navy veteran.

Services have yet to be arranged. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County
