Gerald A. Hagopian, 71, of 1006 S. Edison St., died at 1:50 a.m. today in St. Joseph's Medical Center after being ill the past three months. Born on Aug. 18, 1912, in Chicago, he lived in South Bend since 1914, coming from Chicago.

On May 14, 1955, in Chicago, he married Lucille Rhinehart, who died on July 2, 1972.

Hagopian is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Charles (Mamie) Hagopian Waukegan, Mrs. Sarkis (Peroz) Boyajian of Rudolph, Wis., Mrs. Carl G. (Virginia) Smith of Alpine, Tex., and Mrs. Edward (Rose) Manuszak of South Bend; and three brothers, Michael of Florida, Daniel of Chicago, and Jack of California.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 1201 S. Michigan St., with Rev. Loren VanOort, pastor of Christ the King American Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.

He was a former Studebaker Corp. employee sales representative for Bankers Life and Casualty of Chicago
