Florence Elizabeth (Zigler) Travis

Florence E. Travis, 83, of 17153 Lakeview Drive, Vandalia, died Thursday, Aug. 20 at her home after an extended illness. She was born Oct. 22, 1917 in South Bend, Ind.

On Oct. 9, 1937 in Gary, Ind., she married Perry A. Travis, who preceded her in death Nov. 8, 1993.

Mrs. Travis moved to the community in 1972, coming from South Bend. She was retired as a sewing machine operatorfrom Whitehouse Manufacturing Co., South Bend.

She is survived by two brothers, Charles Zigler of Fish Lake, Ind. and Thomas Zigler of Mishawaka, Ind.

Funeral services for Mrs. Travis were held Wednesday at Pleasant View Church of Christ, Cassopolis, Rev. Larry Settle, pastor presiding. Burial followed at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Cassopolis. Friends called at the church two hours before the funeral.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church. Connelly Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
