Elmer L. Worsham, 66, of Kalamazoo, Mich., formerly of South Bend, died Thursday morning at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, after a lengthy illness. He was president and owner of the American Electrical Co. in Kalamazoo, retiring in 1970.
He was born on Jan. 26, 1916, in Packertown, Ind., and lived in South Bend for many years until moving to Kalamazoo.
On Jan. 29, 1937, he married Evelyn Sandberg. She survives with three daughters, Mrs. Barbara J. Winn, Mrs. Lynn Dinvald and Mrs. Marl E. Law, all of Kalamazoo; a son, Kenneth L. of Kalamazoo; 11 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Roy (Winnifred) Sackman of South Bend and Virginia VanderMeer of Summerville, N.J.; and a brother, Morris Worsham of Texas.
Services were to have been at 11 a.m. today in the Wager and Clark Chapel in Kalamazoo. Burial was to have been in Mount Everest Memorial Park, Kalamazoo.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Michigan Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation. He was a member of Anchor Lodge of S.O. 87 F&AM; De Witt-Clinton Consistory 32nd degree; Saladin Temple AAONMS of Grand Rapids; and the Kalamazoo Shrine Club.
