In Memory

Helen Verana (Williams) Nicora
Mar 8, 1918 - Feb 3, 2001
Services were held this week for Helen V. Nicora, who died peacefully at her home Saturday, Feb. 3. She was a longtime resident of Pacifica and was well known around town as a retired real estate agent who worked in South San Francisco and Pacifica for many years. Helen loved the arts, especially native American art, and she played the piano and organ beautifully.
Aside from playing music, she liked to listen to music. Her favorite composer was Franz Liszt. She had a special affinity for Hungarian waltzes. After she became ill, she gained great comfort from the visits and help provided by Church of the Good Shepherd parishioners and the family would like to thank the church community for their care and concern.
Helen is survived by her niece, Paula Anne (Joe) Williams of San Jose; her nephew, Wayne Joseph (Betty Jo) Williams of Chicago, Ill.; and a niece-in-law, Kathryn "Kit" Williams of Midland, Texas. She was the beloved grand-aunt of Christy and Melissa of Chicago and Kevin and Bridget of Chicago.
A vigil service was held Monday at Chapel By the Sea Funeral Home and a Funeral Mass was held Tuesday at Good Shepherd with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.
The family prefers memorial contributions to either the American Cancer Society, San Mateo County Unit, 1720 S. Amphlett Blvd. #220, San Mateo, Calif. 94402 or to the Parkinsons Institute, 1170 Morse Ave., Sunnyvale, Calif. 94089
