Paul A. White, 65, of 1325 E. Cedar, died at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday in his home after suffering an apparent heart attack. He was a retired greenskeeper for the South Bend Park Department.

Born on July 11, 1916, in Plymouth, he lived here most of his life.

On Sept. 20, 1941, he married La Verta Thornton. She died on Oct. 22, 1980.

He is survived by a daughter, Miss Rose Marie White of Atlanta, Ga.; a son, William H. of South Bend; five grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Catherine) Brown of Indianapolis and Mrs. Charles (Dorothy) I Butler of Youngstown, Ohio; and a brother, John W. of South Bend.

Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the McGann Funeral Home, where a wake will be observed at 7 p.m.

He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
