William W. Wenger Sr.
Aug. 31, 1917 - July 17, 1993
MISHAWAKA - Private graveside services for William W. Wenger Sr., 75, of 1008 Prospect Drive, who died at 6:46 p.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Hospital after an illness, were held today in Sumption Prairie Cemetery. Forest G. Hay Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Mr. Wenger retired in 1977 from the South Bend Community School Corp. as a music teacher after 25 years of service. He was born Aug. 31, 1917, in Cassopolis, and was a lifelong area resident.
On Feb. 5, 1949, in South Bend, he married Maybelle A. Anderson. She survives, with two daughters, Donna Wenger Breeden of Lansing and Marsha Wilson of Mishawaka; a son, William Jr. of Panama; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jeremiah of Santa Cruz, Calif.
He was a graduate of Indiana University, former concert master of the Michigan City Festival, taught piano, voice and organ in the area for many years and was choir master and organist for several local churches. He was a member of National Multiple Sclerosis Society
