Edison B. Ward

Edison B. "Ed" Ward, 71, of 1613 Hamilton St., died at 7:20 a.m. today at Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Ward was the owner of Engineered Refrigeration Marketing. He was a former sales engineer for Tyler Refrigeration and former president of Baker-Ward Refrigeration. He was born Nov. 17, 1916, in Mentone and lived in South Bend most of his life, coming from Mentone.
On July 14, 1940, in Niles, he married Frances J. Baker, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Dr. Sandra W. Lamberson of Easley, S.C., and Jennifer W. Linder of South Bend; a son, Jerry B. of Stamford, Conn.; six grandchildren; and two sisters, Estelle Stevens of Osceola and Marguerite LaPota of Tulsa, Okla.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 P N. William St.
Mr. Ward was a member of the church, a Sunday school teacher and a member of many local and national organizations dealing with food service and commercial refrigeration.
