William Earl “Bill” Wagar

William Earl Wager, 85 years old, of 356 Mars Avenue, Tequesta, FL, died on Saturday, December 6, 2003.

Bill was the devoted and loving husband of Virginia Ruth Wagar for 58 years and was a past active member of First United Methodist Church of Jupiter/Tequesta and previous Councilman for the Village of Tequesta.

Born in Detroit, MI, Bill led both an active and rewarding life. He was a graduate of Purdue University (Ô41) where he received a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering and later his MBA from the University of Missouri.

Upon completion of his undergraduate studies, Bill was commissioned an officer in the US Army (Field Artillery) and later became a decorated pilot who flew numerous B-24 and C-47 combat missions in the European theater during W.W.2 with the 437th Troop Carrier Group.

In 1945, Bill married Virginia and began his career in Neodesha, Kansas as a private pilot for the W J Small Company. He then pursued a highly recognized engineering career with the Westinghouse Electric Company in 1954 at the Aviation Gas Turbine Division located in Kansas City, MO.

In 1960, Bill then pursued additional technical opportunities and became employed with Pratt & Whitney Aircraft (East Hartford, CT and then West Palm Beach, FL) in the capacity of Sr Project Engineer for various Government Programs, including international liaison.

Bill then retired in 1980 from Pratt & Whitney where he was and still is recognized for his numerous meritorious technical and program achievements.

Bill spent the balance of his life doing what he enjoyed most; being with his beloved wife, relatives and close friends. He was best known for his RV domestic traveling adventures, gardening, supporting church activities, local government and various civic organizations.

Bill is survived by his son, Charles C Wagar of Vernon, CT; his daughter, Barbara J Krajewski and husband Bill of Aledo TX; his grandsons: Anthony R Stino and Mark A Krajewski; granddaughters: Wendy Cassidy and husband Kevin, Christina Moria and husband Jeremy, and Teresa Leach and husband Michael; and great-grandson Aiden Stino.

Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Jupiter/Tequesta, 815 E Indiantown Road, Jupiter, FL on Saturday, December 13, 2003 at 10 am in the chapel.
