John Byron Von Bergen

John Von Bergen, 63, of 413 W. Colfax, died at 8:05 a.m. Saturday in Memorial Hospital after an illness of 110 days. He was a retired carpenter. He was born on Nov. 15, 1917, in South Bend and lived here all of his life.

He is survived by three daughters. Mrs. Margaret Chodfelter of St. Louis, Miss Jayne Von Bergen of Mishawaka and Mrs. Debby Hendrix of Dallas; a sister, Mrs. Ada Marker of Mishawaka; and his mother, Mrs. Martha Von Bergen of South Bend.

A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the ThallemerGoethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka, with Rev. David Miller, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Mishawaka, officiating. Friends may call one. Hour prior to services at the funeral home. The body will be cremated, with burial in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.

He was a veteran of World War II. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Audubon Society
