William E. Ulbricht, 80, of Crown Hill Drive, South Bend, Ind., died at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 3, in the Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation Center, South Bend. He was born on Nov. 13, 1917, in South Bend, and was a lifelong resident.

He married Marian Hoffer, who preceded him in death on Nov. 1, 1965. On Sept. 12, 1974, he married Dariel High, who preceded him in death on May 31, 1992.

Mr. Ulbricht is survived by a daughter, Joann Stanley of Eskdale, W.Va.; a son, Michael Ulbricht of South Bend; two granddaughters, Sabrina and Amber Stanley of Eskdale; a sister, Avis Davis of South Bend; and a brother, Ernest Ulbricht of North Liberty, Ind.; and his friend and companion, Inez Van Ooteghem of Mishawaka, Ind.

Mr. Ulbricht was a retired electronic technician and had worked for WTRC, and had last worked in the maintenance department at the University of Notre Dame. He was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church, South Bend; South Bend Lions Club; Elkhart Moose Lodge; and he was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Force; and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 360.

Services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday in Christ the King Lutheran Church, South Bend, where friends may call two hours prior to the services. Cremation will take place with burial in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Christ the King Lutheran Church, 17195 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN 46635; or to the South Bend Lions Club.

The Welsheimer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
